ABOUT Francesca
I identify as a mixed Mexican and British woman who cares deeply about people and believes firmly in our capacity as humans to heal and get free! I am eternally fascinated by what makes us who we are, and how to bring more curiosity and compassion to the various maladies of our hearts and minds: depression, shame, trauma, grief, relationship conflict, addiction, and more. To this end, I draw upon my own years of internal work in mental health recovery, primarily in the yogic tradition, Buddhist dharma teachings, women's circles, and Western psychotherapy.
As a former community organizer involved in the movements for immigrant rights, domestic worker rights, Palestinian rights, and transgender rights, social justice is a core value of mine. I strive to be mindful of how race, class, gender, and ability shape our relationship in therapy, and to remain teachable at all times. I often draw upon Internal Family Systems, behavioral activation, and Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with clients, but enjoy being dynamic and tailoring my approach to your particular needs. I am most interested in supporting you in accessing your own inner wisdom - or your "internal GPS" - to ease suffering and find more peace and contentment in your day-to-day life and relationships.
